Accreditation and Rankings

Loyola is well known for its success in the education of adult, non-traditional learners. Loyola’s online nursing programs’ accreditation, rankings, and recognitions are a testament to this reputation and history of successful student outcomes.

Through the Loyola Institute for Ministry Extension Program (LIMEX), established in 1983, the University first began providing distance education. This was soon followed by the Department of Nursing establishing the Off-Campus Learning Program (OCLP), which offered the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree to students through a number of hospital sites throughout the state of Louisiana, in 1990. The Department of Nursing further expanded its online footprint in 2004 by launching a fully-online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program, as well as an RN-to-MSN Bridge with a focus on Health Care Systems Management, now known as Nursing Leadership.

The School of Nursing launched an online Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program in 2010, and now, the school is proud to offer an entire suite of online nursing degree-awarding programs, including:
