As a proud member of the United States Air Force, nursing to me is much more than a job, it is caring for my brothers and sisters in arms, military family members and our veterans. Getting the opportunity to comfort, teach, celebrate, and hear the incredible stories of real American heroes and has touched my life on so many levels. I have learned compassion, patience, respect and a real sense of American pride. I have cared for people from World War II to Operation Iraqi freedom, and the family members who have been as much a part of the military as their spouses. Nursing to me is having the opportunity to give back to the people who have given so much for me and our country.
A MSN with specialization in Health Care Systems Management would give me the tools to be a strong nurse leader and manager in the military health care system. In the military, a master?s degree is required for career advancement, opening many new and exciting doors as a future nurse manager. The online curriculum offered by Loyola New Orleans is suited perfectly for the military lifestyle allowing me to continue my education regardless of future moves and deployments. Nursing within the military health care system is a dynamic, ever changing, career field that I hope to be a part of for many years, and I plan to take the knowledge I learn at Loyola New Orleans and become an active part in improving the military health care system.
