My Vision of Nursing

My Vision of Nursing

I have made a commitment to myself to make the world a better place thru the art of nursing. God chose me to be a nurse, a servant leader, to make an impact in the lives of the people I care for. Through good works and deeds, nurses have the presence of faith, compassion, intelligence, charity and love. We accomplish extraordinary tasks with a cheerful heart, and our character exhibits excellence. We are ever evolving to meet the needs of our patients and the health care delivery system. We offer empathy to affect the process of healing on the emotional, mental, and physical level of our patients. From the excitement of a delivery room to the quiet moments of prayer and meditation in a chapel, nursing is involved in all aspects of care. Nursing is the gentle art of compassion.

It is not good that the soul be without knowledge. (Proverbs 19:2) The Bible tells us that wisdom is supreme, therefore, get wisdom. With a Master's degree in Health Care Systems Management from Loyola University, my mission of leading and mentoring nursing professionals will be a dream realized. The reward for obtaining my masters will be joining the ranks of other Masters prepared nurses and leading our profession forward with grace and dignity. I plan to continue teaching nursing professionals, as I do now, to ensure that the next generation of nurses are inspired and have a thirst for knowledge, preserving the foundation for our future.
