It's June 7th, 2008 and my family and friends have joined together to celebrate my accomplishment of obtaining my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I knew that this was just the beginning of my professional nursing career and that one day I would also graduate with my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. The field of nursing is not only extremely rewarding but diverse as well. Thinking back to when I was just a little girl, it was my determination to become a Registered Nurse one day. I placed into perspective the steps I would need to take to reach my goal of becoming a Nurse Executive. That was when I knew, perseverance and willpower will allow me to complete whatever I set my mind to do.
By obtaining my Master's of Science in Nursing at Loyola University, I have the opportunity to not only become a nursing leader, but to be educated by one of the nation's top ranked online graduate programs. During the program, I hope to gain knowledge on Performance Improvement and Outcome Management. In the near future, I see myself as an innovative leader within the pediatric healthcare field. Based on the courses offered by Loyola, I know that they will align me with my future goals. While this program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accredited Commission, it is a fully online and I have the opportunity for professional certification after I am completed. Becoming certified after completing my degree is important to me. As a Certified Pediatric Nurse, I have demonstrated my knowledge in this specialty area which goes beyond my RN license.
With the healthcare industry constantly growing and expanding, I believe that the targeted curriculum offered by Loyola will adequately prepare me as the leader this industry needs.
