What are the requirements to apply for admission into the BLEND Program?

Candidates must have an active RN license and a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

How long is the BLEND Program and what is the total length of the online BLEND and MSN programs?

The BLEND Program consists of two seven-week courses and is generally completed in one semester. Students can complete the BLEND and MSN coursework within seven semesters (2.25 years).

How is each course structured?

Online courses are 7 weeks in the spring and fall terms and 6 weeks in length in the summer. Students can graduate in two years by taking one course at a time. Each course is comprised of asynchronous online discussion forums and written assignments. There are no set class hours so students have the freedom to complete the discussion postings and assignments around their work schedule. Students are primarily evaluated on individual writing assignments and participation in online discussions.

How flexible are the professors when it comes to family, full-time jobs, and other responsibilities outside of school?

As a Jesuit institution, Loyola University New Orleans follows the principles of Ignatian pedagogy (care for the individual). What this means for you as a student is that the online course format is designed for professionals with hectic work schedules and busy lives filled with multiple responsibilities.
