Dr. Peterson received her PhD in Nursing from the University of Toronto in 2009. During her doctoral studies, she also completed the Collaborative Graduate Program in Health Services and Policy Research through a consortium of six universities in Ontario, Canada. After graduating, Dr. Peterson held the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Nursing Early Career in Research Award from 2009-2012. Her program of research focuses on the transition of newly graduated nurses into practice settings and their preparation for practice. Her research interests broadly include the work environments, work lives and careers of nurses, and recruitment and retention of the nursing workforce.
