BSN-to-DNP and MSN-to-DNP Curricula
The online DNP curriculum at Loyola University New Orleans prepares you to provide effective and cost-efficient care to individuals, families, groups, and populations, as well as to work in various systems of health care at the highest level. Our curriculum is built to foster a spirit of independent inquiry, enhance critical thinking and communication skills, and develop the tools needed to become a lifelong learner, leader, and guide of other nursing professionals.
Those who choose the BSN-to-DNP program at Loyola University will concentrate in Family Nurse Practitioner curriculum., Those within the MSN-to-DNP program will have the option of two specific concentrations: Nurse Practitioner and Executive Leadership. With any of these options, you will be poised to impact patients and other nursing professionals alike, along with increasing your own career and salary opportunities.
Additionally, the DNP program requires 1000-1260 practicum hours, depending on your selected program where you will be challenged to implement theory and practice in a real-world, professional space, all while gaining course credit that counts toward your degree. The practicum experience, guided by a preceptor is designed to give you hands-on opportunities to hone your skills at translating research into practice in a variety of health care settings. No two students will receive matching practicum experiences as it is tailored to each student’s unique interests and professional goals. In addition, you will complete a Scholarly Project, the culmination of your translational research, which you present at your last visit to campus.
